Dr. Khalid Abdulrahman is a professor of family medicine, Vice Rector for Planning, Development and Quality at Al-Imam Mohammed Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU), founding Dean of College of Medicine (IMSIU), president of Saudi Society for Medical, Jurisprudence, and a Professor Chair of Dr. Al-Khuly's Chair for Development of Medical Education in Saudi Arabia. a Former VP of the Saudi Society for Medical Education, a Former Director of Medical Education Center at King Saud University (KSU).He is also team leader of the strategic planning project for the future of health education in Saudi Arabia, a team leader of the strategic plan project at College of Medicines and University Hospitals, editor-in-chief-medical teacher Saudi supplement, and editor-in-chief-Imam journal of Applied Sciences.

His research interest is in the field of medical education, accreditation of medical programs, quality improvement of medical education, evidence-based medicine, improvement of clinical competence, professionalism and medical ethics, strategic planning for higher education and management of chronic diseases. 




Prof. Khalid A. Bin Adulrahman


Dr Al Amro Graduated from medical school in King Faisal University in 1988.  After which he worked in ARAMCO and King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center. He did his postgraduate studies in Radiation Oncology and obtain the Canadian fellowship and the American Board. He also obtained two fellowships in Radiosurgery and Brachytherapy. In 1996 he rejoined KFSHRC and he grew in both medical and administrative carrier. He became the head section of radiation Oncology. Director of the out reach program, The executive director of health outreach and business affair, and the director of the cancer center. In 2003 he established the Saudi Cancer society and helped in establishing King Faisal Specialist Hospital Jeddah, Prince Faisal Bin Bander Cancer Center and King Abdulaziz University Cancer Center. In 2004 he was selected to be the first CEO of King Fahad Medical City. In 2013 he moved to the private sector where he established diverse business opportunities.




Dr. Abdullah Sulaiman Al Amro


Dr. Abdulrahman Al Nuaim is a professor of Medicine and Senior Consultant Endocrinologist. He was named as fellow of Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (1985) and the American College of Physicians (1989) and a certified Physician Executive (CPE) by the certifying commission of the medical management, USA (2004). He has had several leading posts at King Faisal Specialist Hospital (KFSH), Riyadh; Executive Director, Medical and Clinical Operations (2001-2002), COO (2002-2005), Assistant CEO (2005-2008) and Deputy Executive Director for Health Outreach and Business Affairs (1997 to date). He has contributed significantly to the major innovations and changes that took place at KFSH in the last decade.

His research interest is in the field of endocrinology and he has published 65 articles in peer-reviewed international journals.




Dr. Abdulrahman AAl Nuaim


Mr. Cook is high impact leader and mentor that specializes in developing and leading teams to achieve superior results. He obtained MSBA from Boston University in 1999. Currently, he is the CEO of University of Mississippi Medical Center Adult Health System, Jackson, Ms, since July 2013. Mr. Cook was the President and CEO, St. Vincent Medical Center from Oct 2011 to July 2013, and the chief operating officer, Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center from May 2011 to Sept. 2011. He had served as vice president and COO at Merry Health partners, Mercy Hospital Mount Airy, Cincinnati, OH from 2006 to 2009. He led multiple quality improvement projects for various hospitals and corresponding clinic network. 




 Kevin Cook


Dr. Al Muamar is an associate professor of ophthalmology, a vice Rector of Health Specialties at King Saud University,(KSU), and the CEO at King Saud University Medical City. He was the General Supervisor of SOP at the medical city from May 2012 to Oct 2013. He obtained FRCS, Canada in June 2002 and completed in June 2003 the clinical fellowship in Cornea, external diseases, uveitis, and refractive surgery in Ottawa, Canada.

He is a member of the supervisory committee of health system project at KSU, member of board of directors of the Saudi Company of Health information Ltd, and a member of the higher committee for research chairs at KSU.

His research interest is in the field of cornea disease and has published 28 articles in peer reviewed journals and has written chapters in three text books of ophthalmology. 




Dr. Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Muammar


As an Executive Director for International Programs at The University of Chicago Medicine, E.M. Williams-Lopez supervises all international operations and international expansion of its brand in patient care, research and education. His goal is to share with the world the brain power of the faculty members of this world-renown academic center. Mr. Williams-Lopez also oversees all new strategic partnerships, consulting and educational programs.

Before, joining University of Chicago Medicine, E.M. Williams-Lopez served as Strategic Advisor for hospitals in the US and abroad in the areas of coordinated care, patient experience, and new market development, before joining UCM.

Mr. Williams-Lopez worked with Medpoint Health Partners and their clients around the globe, consulting in different aspects multinational and multicultural hospital management. Clients included University of California San Diego, Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Dupont Hospital for Children.

From 2001 to 2011, Mr. Williams-Lopez led several high-profile, innovative projects within Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore. He was in charge of developing strategies, and their implementation, to diversify the customer base of Hopkins at home and abroad. Mr. Williams-Lopez conceived and launched Hopkins’ first Cultural Competency curriculum, as well as the first formal Customer Relationship Management (CRM), a program aimed at securing the loyalty of Hopkins’ patients and referring physicians through a unique combination of operational coordinated care and traditional marketing. This CRM program allowed Hopkins to double its number of out-of-town patients in only three years. He was also part of the Center for Innovation in Quality Patient Care, an internal think-tank that develops patient-centered and safety programs.

Other initiatives in his portfolio included medical interpretation improvement, as well as physician-focused educational programs, such as JHM Interactive. Before joining Hopkins in July of 2001, Mr. Williams-Lopez had accumulated extensive experience as an international consultant and journalist.

Prof. Ikram Ismail is a director of university of Malaya Medical center, professor and senior consultant endocrinologist in university of Malaya, Malaysia and he was a Dean of the college of medicine in the same university from 2006-2011. He had his PhD from university of wales College of Medicine. His research interest is in endocrinology, diabetes and diabetic vasculopathy, and his research involves both basic and clinical research. He was the director of the clinical investigation center at the UM medical center and has published more than 70 papers in various medical journals and wrote few chapters in the text books. He has great interest in mathematics and IT and was the head of IT unit at the UM medical center, coordinating the setting up of an integrated total Hospital Information Center. He is a member of the steering committee for the implementation of the quality management system in PPUM. He was one of the main founders of the University of Malaya Medical Center.

Dr. Zaki is a founding trustee of eHealth Association of Pakistan (eHAP) and its current President. He has been the National Convener of Quality in Healthcare chapter of QPSP; National Coordinator for Telemedicine & eHealth, MoH, Government of Pakistan & Focal Person for eHealth for WHO.

He helped create Health Research Advisory Board and developed a workshop “Patient First” on Patient Centric Healthcare. His “Country’s First” projects include:“Medical Call Center”; Health Asia; “Hub & Spoke” Telemedicine Project; Family Health Membership Program; Videoconferencing Studio and Services; National & International Telemedicine / eHealth Conference and Exhibitions; among others.

Dr. Zaki has worked with super specialty hospitals of Singapore, Turkey, India, Saudi Arabia & UAE for creating meaningful collaborations. He created the Mirror Site for Supercourse, world’s largest on line repository of medical presentations, in Pakistan.

As a globally recognized speaker, Dr. Zaki has been speaking at many eHealth / mHealth / medical conferences around the world and serves on the boards of various international conferences and organizations.

For his contributions in the entrepreneurial space, he has been awarded as the “Most Promising Entrepreneurs Award” by E-Global Awards 2012.

Dr. M. Jamal Deen was born in Guyana, South America. He completed a Ph.D. degree  in Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, U.S.A. His Ph.D. dissertation was on the design and modeling of a new CARS spectrometer for dynamic temperature measurements and combustion optimization in rocket and jet engines, and was sponsored and used by NASA, Cleveland, USA. He is currently Senior Canada Research Chair in Information Technology, and Director, Micro- and Nano-Systems Laboratory at McMaster University. His current research interests are nanoelectronics, optoelectronics, nanotechnology and their emerging applications to health and environmental sciences. Dr. Deen’s research record includes more than 500 peer-reviewed articles (about 20% are invited), two textbooks on Silicon Photonics – Fundamentals and Devices, (Wiley 2012) and Fiber Optic Communications – Fundamentals and Applications (Wiley 2014), 20 authored/edited books and conference proceedings, 16 invited book chapters, 8 awarded patents, 6 of which have been used in industry, and 13 best paper/poster awards. Over his career, he has won more than fifty awards and honors.

As an undergraduate student at the University of Guyana, Dr. Deen was the top ranked mathematics and physics student and the second ranked student at the university, winning the Chancellor’s gold medal and the Irving Adler prize. As a graduate student, he was a Fulbright-Laspau Scholar and an American Vacuum Society Scholar.  He is a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Electron Device Society for more than a decade.  His awards and honors include the Callinan Award as well as the Electronics and Photonics Award from the Electrochemical Society; the Distinguished Researcher Award from the Province of Ontario; a Humboldt Research Award from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation; the Eadie Medal from the Royal Society of Canada; McNaughton Gold Medal (highest award for engineers), the Fessenden Medal and the Ham Education Medal, all from IEEE Canada IEEE Canada In addition, he was awarded three honorary doctorate degrees in recognition of his exceptional research and scholarly accomplishments, professionalism and service. Dr. Deen has also been elected Fellow status in ten national academies and professional societies including The Royal Society of Canada - The Academies of Arts, Humanities and Sciences (the highest honor for academics, scholars and artists in Canada), IEEE, APS (American Physical Society) and ECS (Electrochemical Society). Most recently, he was elected President of the Academy of Science, The Royal Society of Canada.

Dr. Richard E. Scott is CEO of NT Consulting (www.ntcehc.ca), Professor of Telehealth at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (Durban), as well as Director, Office of Global e-Health and Strategy, and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Calgary (Alberta), and Victoria University (British Columbia). He is also a Fulbright New Century Scholar (2001-2002), Canadian Harkness Associate (2004-2005), and Mary Weston Scholar (2008) alumnus.

Richard focuses his interests on examining the role of e-health in the globalisation of healthcare, including aspects impacting the implementation, integration, and sustainability of e-health globally and locally (termed ‘glocal’ e-health). He promotes the application of ‘culturally sensitive and technologically appropriate’ e-health solutions.

His research interests are directed towards inter-jurisdictional e-health policy (management and facilitation of e-health’s complex trans-border setting), strategic implementation (developing needs/evidence-based and defensible e-health strategies to guide countries and facilities in the application of appropriate e-health solutions), outcomes and evaluation (identifying and defining suitable outcome indicators, and developing tools and frameworks for rigorous yet pragmatic demonstration of the value of e-health), ‘disaster management cycle’ response (understanding and promoting the role of e-health in facilitating all stages of the disaster management cycle), and environmental e-health (understanding the environmental costs [e.g. e-waste; energy use] and benefits [e.g. reduced greenhouse gas and particulate emissions] of e-health).

Eric de Roodenbeke is Director General of the International Hospital Federation since

June 2008. Previously he was Senior Health Specialist at the Global Health Workforce

Alliance. From 2004 to 2006 he was Senior Health Specialist at the World Bank in which

time he was Team leader for various health intervention, educational, management and

capacity building programmes mostly in Africa. He was Director of a hospital of the

CHU Tours from 2001 to 2003. Between 1996 and 2001, he was health policy Senior

Officer at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At the beginning of his career he held

various positions as hospital manager in France and abroad.

Dr. Abdullah Aldahmash is an associate professor of embryology and stem cell technology at King Saud University (KSU), and the General Director of Prince Naif Bin Abdulaziz Health Research Center at KSU.

He is a visiting Scientist, University of Southern Denmark since Oct. 2010, and a member of the scientific committee of King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz international prize for translation since 2009.

He has MSc in Neurological Science from University College London, UK and a doubled PhD in Anatomy and developmental Biology from School of life Sciences, University of Dundee, UK. His area of research interest is in pre-implantation embryology and modern histology techniques. He has several research grants and has published more than thirsty scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals, and has translated two scientific books to the Arabic language.
